Card payments or third party UPIs can be a hassle if you gotta enter details every time or need to switch between apps. Paytm, GPay and PhonePe have fine built-in UPI systems, but they don’t have the wide marketplace like Amazon. Â And what if, Amazon creates a built-in UPI system to wave off such inconveniences?

Amazon India Launched New Payment Option – Amazon Pay UPI
On Thursday, Amazon India introduced a new payment option called “Amazon Pay UPI“, which was more like the regular BHIM UPI but having Amazon’s nativity. This was setup with Axis bank’s partnership and users will be given new UPI IDs.
The UPI system was introduced by National Payments Corporation of India for processing inter-banking transactions.
Now along with BHIM, Amazon Pay UPI joins as a new UPI payment option for Android users. iOS users need to wait for a while to get this.
Upon activation, this instant payment option will be secured with UPI code as well as login code, where user have to enter both the PINs to authenticate the transaction. There could be a cashback of Rs.25 on the transaction.

Vikas Bansal, Director of Amazon Pay India said, “The launch of Amazon Pay UPI is a key milestone to help accelerate adoption of merchant payments on UPI platforms.”
