Apple plans to launch a very different iPhone design within two years. Bank of America Merill Lynch has revealed the company’s plan to work on foldable phones with its Asian partners. Apple plans to launch foldable iPhone by the year 2020.

Analyst Wamsi Mohan mentioned in a note to clients that “We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED  versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past,” “Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.” He added.

    Foldable iPhone

The concept of Foldable phones has been demonstrated by many companies like Samsung and Lenovo. But, nothing has been materialized by any of the companies so far. According to a Korean media outlet, LG and Apple have initiated the work on foldable screens. Apple’s Asian partners are working on the foldable model.

Wamsi Mohan also believes that there will be no effect on iPhone’s foldable iPhone market due to trade tensions between China and the U.S. “Given that a substantial amount of iPhone and other electronics manufacturing is done in China, we do not see this as a particular area of retaliation from a trade context” he wrote.

Apple is rumored to be launching many iPhones this year which includes, three iPhone X successors, two OLED handsets, and an LCD device. Apart from that, it will be very interesting to grab hands on foldable iPhones.
