He has played a vital role in Apple’s rebirth through his creative and simple designs for Apple products.

From Apple’s newsroom, “Apple’s chief design officer (Ivy), will depart the company as an employee later this year to form an independent design company which will count Apple among its primary clients. While he pursues personal projects, Ive in his new company will continue to work closely and on a range of projects with Apple.

After all this, he remains to work with Apple in some crucial future projects. According to Tim Cook’s sayings, “Apple will continue to benefit from Jony’s talents by working directly with him on exclusive projects, and through the ongoing work of the brilliant and passionate design team he has built.

After nearly 30 years and countless projects, I am most proud of the lasting work we have done to create a design team, process and culture at Apple that is without peer. Today it is stronger, more vibrant and more talented than at any point in Apple’s history,” said Ive.

Years before, Ivy stated that he’d leave the company if it stops innovating. But that doesn’t seem to be an obvious reason. Ivy has clearly expressed his views of starting a new company called “LoveForm“. Yet, don’t you think Apple’s innovation too is degrading these days?

Well, his resignation is so much concerned that, Apple’s shares, right after his announcement, has declined by 1.5% washing nearly $9 billion of the company’s market cap. That shows how much the industry and investors care about him. But after having such big plummet, they’ve gained back to some fine positions later on. Yet, there’s a loss of big value in terms of creative head and money.
