People can enjoy shows that they connect with through this app. Google Podcasts will use Google recommendation algorithms to provide shows to people on the basis of their listening habits.

    According to Google, Podcasts is expected to serve the for to new listeners all over the world. Google already provided Podcasts to users through third-party apps and Google Play music.

    According to Zack Reneau-Wedeen, product manager on the app, “There’s still tons of room for growth when it comes to podcast listening.”  Having a first-party podcasts Android app “could as much as double worldwide listenership of podcasts overall,” he added.

    Google has made more than 2 million podcasts available on Google Podcasts on the day of its launch. The “For you” section is there to show new episodes, episodes that are in progress and the episodes that are downloaded from the subscribed podcasts.

    The Google Podcasts is powered by Google Assistant. This will enable the users to search and listen to their favourite podcasts if they have enabled the Google Assistant. Users also have an option to resume their podcasts. Moreover, Google wants to leave no stone unturned to add best features to Podcasts app. The company is planning to add features that are powered by artificial intelligence.

    Users can also add closed captions to their podcast so that that they can read while listening. This feature will help people with hearing problems or people who listening in a noisy surrounding.

    Google is also giving special focus on podcasts production as it wants more people to make podcasts. The company has formed an advisory board to promote podcasts production.
