    Google Maps has developed an open sourced solution, Plus Codes, which represents a simple and consistent addressing system that works across INDIA and globally. This system is based on dividing the geographical surface of the Earth into tiny ‘tiled areas’, attributing a unique code to each of them. This code simple comprises a ‘six characters + city’ format that can be generated, shared and searched by anyone; all that is needed is Google Maps on a smartphone” reads a blog post.     In India, it is very challenging to reach any residential address because it is unique in format and changes from region to region and localities. And some addresses are very easy but most of the addresses in India are hard to find especially in remote areas. The new Plus Code introduced by Google can easily work on this challenge.

    Since the time Google has launched Navigation in Hindi, it has received requests to change voice navigation to a local language. So, the company has brought voice navigation is six additional languages that are Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Telegu, Tamil, and Malayalam.

    Google has also introduced ‘Add an Address’ feature to facilitate easy and accurate searching on maps for users.

    All these new additions will make the Google maps more accurate, comprehensive and reliable for users.
