    • Elden Ring

FromSoftware, the studio behind the Dark Souls series, has revealed Elden Ring. The game is a collaboration with George R.R. Martin and will be released for PC and console on February 25. Elden Ring is a fantasy action RPG and is set in a world created by FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki and A Song of Ice and Fire writer George R.R. Martin. The story follows your character as they explore the ruins of the world’s former rulers, who were destroyed after “the Elden Ring was shattered.” We don’t know much else about Elden Ring’s story, but it seems to involve some sort of quest that leads you all over this world, exploring dungeons, fighting enemies, and taking down bosses. From what we’ve seen in the trailer so far, it looks like you’ll be able to ride horses and explore open fields as well as dungeons–something we haven’t seen in a Souls game before. Gameplay looks a lot like previous games from FromSoftware: you’ll fight enemies with swords in third-person perspective combat, dodge attacks with rolls, and get bosses to drop loot after defeating them. And if you die in combat or fall off a ledge too many times, you’ll lose all your souls.
