In a Tweet, Donovan Sung, the director of product management of Xiaomi says, “Is everyone ready for the all-new Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus? We’re launching these two new devices in China on Thursday, Dec 7. Giving everyone a sneak preview!”
A report of Ndtv reveals, “The Xiaomi Redmi 5 was reportedly spotted on the site of Chinese telecommunications certification authority, TENAA.”

It will come with a 5.99-inch FullView display with the aspect ratio of 18:9 making its bezels thin and stylish. A noticeable addition in Redmi Note 5 will be a Snapdragon 630 SoC. While the variants will be unchanged—possibly 32GB with a 3GB RAM, and 64GB with a 4GB RAM, there’ll be a dual-sim availability with the same hybrid SIM tray.
The phone is alleged to have a 12-megapixel sensor on the upfront of the camera which will be 16-megapixel with 5-megapixel sensors. The front camera might be 5-megapixel.
When it comes to Android configuration, it’ll be Nougat 7.1.2 out-of-the-box. Furthermore, there’ll be a battery of 4,000mAh.
