Over the years, ALEXA has undergone numerous changes. From being one of those assistants that can help people in remembering meetings and birthdays, capable of voice interaction, music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audiobooks, and providing weather, traffic and other information such as news, it has now transformed into an intelligent personal assistant that can make one’s life easy.
All you have to do is speak up give commands to it and Amazon is leaving no stone unturned to make it smarter and smarter each and every day.
As we all know that no one is perfect, and so is Alexa. A few days back it started laughing randomly. This random giggling was kind of creepy to some users. Amazon Alexa has introduced a new update which however does not fix this glitch but makes Alexa more efficient.
With the new update, Alexa can now hear back to back commands on Echo speaker. You don’t need to say ‘Hi Alexa’ before every command, which is quite a pain to do. All you have to do to activate this update is switching on Alexa’s – follow up mode. Make sure the blue indicator on Echo speaker is on. Alexa is good to go now, and you can give as many commands as you want without waking up the speaker again and again.
However, Alexa cannot listen to follow up commands if you are listening to music, drop in call or there is a lot of noise in your background. You have to be clearly audible for Alexa to Respond just like any other voice assistance.
This feature is limited only to the US right now. But, we cannot wait for our Alexa’s to get smarter. It will be very interesting to know how far Alexa will evolve.
