    Honor’s 8A Comes Out To China For ¥799

    Though everyone is busy with CES Expo, that’s a mere stage for IoT and smart home gadgets. The Smartphone OEMs are especially waiting for prestigious MWC to showcase their brands.

    May Honor doesn’t like waiting or it has some big devices for the big event, it has unveiled its 8A today in China.

    7A’s successor, the new Honor 8A in some cases touted as “Honor Play 8A” and may go equivalent with Xiaomi’s Mi Play with almost same features.

    Specs of Honor 8A:

    Display

    A 6.09″ HD+ display with 720x1560p resolution and 283ppi pixel density. The screen sports a dew-drop notch style with fine bezel at the bottom.

    Camera

    • The rear panel has a single camera of 13MP and an LED flash. The lens is of 1.8 aperture with phase-detection autofocus tech. Surprisingly, there’s no fingerprint sensor for 8A.
    • The front camera is an 8MP sensor with 2.0 aperture.

    Software

    Comes with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. And yeah, has its own bloatware EMUI 9.0 over the original Android.

    Chipset

    Processed by MediaTek Helio P35 CPU with eight cores having two different clock speeds (4×2.3 and 4×1.8) specifically for gaming. A typical GPU of PowerVR GE8320 handles the device’s graphics.

    Storage

    Two variants of 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM or 64GB ROM with expandable options upto 512GB with MicroSD.

    Under the hood, there’s a 3020mAh battery with other features like A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, USB 2.0 and other sensors.

    Even before the official launch, it is set up by Vmall for pre-orders and sales shall start from today. Showcasing in Aurora Blue, Platinum Gold and Magic night black, 8A bears a price tag of ¥799 for 32GB variant and ¥999 for the 64GB variant.
