The Chinese OEM, Xiaomi, which is by far India’s leading market share occupant by smartphone sales, has just unveiled its anticipated mobile, Xiaomi Mi Play, and a laptop (Mi Notebook Air) today.
Though there are a series of leaks of Mi Play before the official launch, we’ve waited this long to present it with authentic facts. So here are they,
Xiaomi Unveils Mi Play and Notebook Air at ¥1099 & ¥3999
First phone from Xiaomi to come with a dew-drop notch style.
The display features a 5.84″ FHD+ screen with 1080×2280p resolution. With an aspect ratio of 19:9, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
It runs on MediaTek Helio P35 (2.4GHz) CPU (said to perform equivalent to Snapdragon 600 series) and a GPU Turbo, justifying its Play series with focussing on gaming.
Cameras include the rear dual lens of 12MP + 2MP and a front shooter of 8MP, which is AI-powered for tactical photographs.
Mi Play is driven by MiUI 10 OS on the top of 8.1 Oreo and battery with 3000mAh seems slightly disappointing for a gaming phone, but let’s see how Xiaomi optimizes it.
Coming in three colors (Twilight Gold, Dream Blue, and Black) with a gradient finish, there’s only one variant in 4GB+64GB (expandable upto 256GB) and is priced at ¥ 1099 (₹11,100).
Besides listing on Chinese online Mi store, Xiaomi offline stores shall start selling the device from December 25, 10 AM onwards. It will be bundled with an offer of 10GB per month for one year, maybe with corresponding ISPs.
Besides, Xiaomi launches a new laptop too! Known as “Mi Notebook Air“, this new device is extremely light (1.07kg). It is a compact laptop sporting 12.5” FHD display with Intel i5 Generation CPU. With 4GB RAM and 256GB ROM, this laptop runs on Windows 10 and said to have more than 11-hour battery life with a single charge (cited by Gizmochina).
Priced at ¥3999 (₹40,000+), Notebook is currently launched in China only and there’s no announcement about launching in other markets.
