Meizu, the one into which Alibaba poured about $650M has once been a moderate OEM in India and later vanished. Now, after a prolonged time, it makes a comeback with three smartphones and a pair of Bluetooth earphones.
Meizu’s Grand Re-entry: Launch of M16th, M6T, C9 & Earphones
From its launch in Mumbai today, it unveiled M16th, its flagship in two variants of 6GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB. A 6” (1080^2160) display with an in-built fingerprint scanner. Sporting dual speakers at both the ends, it mounts dual cameras at rear with 12MP + 20MP and an LED flash. A front camera with 20MP supporting the AI facial recognition. Other specs of LTE, WLAN, Blutooth 5.0, GLONASS and other sensors. Running on Snapdragon 845 chipset with Adreno 630GPU and powered by 3010mAh battery with Type-C support.
Price – 39,999 (8GB+128GB)
Meizu 6T, a 5.7” display mounting dual cameras at back with 13MP + 2MP and a 8MP selfie camera. Runs on MediaTek MT6750 SoC with 3,300mAh battery. Comes with a price tag 7,999 for the 3GB + 32GB variant.
C9 sports a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera with a display of 5.45” HD+ resoulution. Whatever, the company decided not to go with bezel model with any of its mobiles. C9 comes in 2GB + 16GB variant with 3000mAh battery and running on Spreadtrum 9832E processor.

M16th and M6T both runs on Flyme OS on the top of Android Oreo 8, whereas C9 is a stock android.
All these mobiles will be sold exclusively via Amazon.in from December 5th onwards.
Alongside phones, it launches its propritory earphones Meizu POP and EP52. POP – an ergonomically designed variant seems an Apple Airpods kinda model, comes with Blutooth v4.2 and a charging box with 700mAh capacity. Whereas EP52 is a another Bluetooth headset with a neck-brace model with long battery life.
