2018 – What a year was it for Facebook! Data scandals and security leaks, issues from Cambridge Analytica and trails by authorities, Facebook have gone under every shit it’s connected with.
After Facebook, Instagram Now Faces The Password Exposure Issues!
And in this year, it seemed to have enough already by internal probs, where is announced in a blog post last month saying, “Millions of users passwords were stored in a readable format in their databases!”
Well, that could be intriguing, but soon they revealed the correction of that issue.
But what we learned from our latest development is that there’s Instagram too affected badly in this leak.
On 18th April, Facebook, in its newsroom blog has added a text saying that some of the Instagram users passwords too were stored in a readable format, but they are unaffected.
They didn’t even considered saying this in an individual post but rather added to its last month’s post of the leak.
Here’s what they said – From the post of Pedro Canahuati “Since this post was published, we discovered additional logs of Instagram passwords being stored in a readable format. We now estimate that this issue impacted millions of Instagram users. We will be notifying these users as we did the others. Our investigation has determined that these stored passwords were not internally abused or improperly accessed“.
Huh, what do you think?
If you’re one of those affected millions, you’d already received a notification to change the password by now. If not, just relax.
