Google Assistant Now Speaks Hindi
Google has rolled out Hindi support for its virtual google assistant. You can avail this assistant on Android phones 6.0+, Marshmallow and above and will soon be available on Android 5.0 Lollipop, iPhones as well as Android Oreo, Go edition devices.
“The Google Assistant is truly Indian, it’s your helpful dost that speaks our language and understands the things you care about, from finding biryani recipes to pulling up the latest cricket score or finding directions to the ATM,” said Purvi Shah, Technical Program Manager, Assistant.
Download the latest Google search application and then all you need to do to set your Google Assistant in Hindi is set your device language to Hindi and then touch and hold the Home button and say “OK Google” command. “Machine learning-backed Google Assistant uses a mix of natural language understanding, computer vision, and understanding user context to give appropriate results for Hindi queries right in Hindi” reads a blog post.
Google is going to give tough competition to Amazon ALEXA and Apple’s SIRI that have still not added Hindi support. The Hindi support in Google Assistant will make Non-English speaker’s experience of Google Assistant very fun and easy. Hindi assistant can be used for sending text messages, setting reminders and getting directions.
Google is leaving no stone unturned to roll out Hindi support for all compatible devices through a server-side update, it may take some time to reach your device.
